Founded in 1934 on the
Jewish traditions of Parnossah (earning a living) Tikkun Olam (repairing the
world) and Tzedakah (charity), F·E·G·S has and continues to be sustained by
these values in its work throughout the Agency.

Helps individuals achieve
dignity through work by providing innovative career, employment, and workforce
development initiatives
Reaches out to serve
families with a multitude of services that heal, comfort, counsel, educate, and
rehabilitate people of all ages
Through the arts — drama, dance,
painting, poetry, photography, and other artistic mediums — participants in
F·E·G·S programs gain self-awareness, learn to cope more effectively with the
world around them, and develop a greater sense of independence and dignity.
Provides a range of
services to individuals and families that are sensitive to the needs of the
Jewish community
Helps refugees and
immigrants achieve economic and personal independence through comprehensive
counseling and support services to acculturate individuals and families to
their new homeland. Also assists in becoming American citizens.
Residential & Housing Services
Innovative housing programs and support services to individuals
diagnosed with a mental illness, developmental disabilities or are deaf or hard
of hearing.
Works with over 140 major
colleges and universities to create clinical and experiential internship
opportunities for college graduate and undergraduate students.
A wide array of volunteer
opportunities are offered for individuals and families. We take the time to
find out your skills, talents, and interests and match them with the needs of
those we serve.
