The Recu Jazz Ensemble is a New York based band that brings the authentic feeling and sound of Jazz to Jewish music.
The band’s founder, Shlomo Recu, is a seasoned musician of 30 years. At 18 he was playing a steady gig at the Hilton Hotel in Israel, and playing in a trio with his roommates every Saturday night.
Starting as a freelance drummer, Shlomo founded the Recu Jazz Ensemble with regulars Eddy Khaimovich on base, Gary Fisher on piano, and Dan Pratt on sax, although the band frequently expands up to an 8 piece band when the occasion calls for it.
The Recu Jazz Ensemble offers a variety of services from one-on-one drum lessons, to an event band, to ensemble classes and management. Call to book!
