When Rivkah Krinsky sits in front of a client at her home office in Crown Heights and hears about the daily struggle to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle, she nods in complete understanding.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, Krinsky has struggled with her weight as a young girl and then as a young mother of three. After her third child was born, she was at her heaviest and was determined to make a change.
She began making changes in her life, incorporating healthy food choices and becoming more active. Soon, not only had she had lost the weight, but she had created a program for herself with a sustainable balance of healthy diet and exercise, which became a holistic healthy lifestyle.
With her new-found boost of confidence, Rivkah soon began traveling as a singer and musician who traveled the world performing for female audiences at Chabad centers, schools and Jewish communities.
Now a mom of 8, she has maintained these habits, and her goal weight, for over 20 years.
Five years ago, she decided to turn the knowledge and experience she gained during her life-changing journey into a way of helping others. She studied to become an accredited health coach and started meeting clients and helping them to change their lifestyle as well, and reaching their goal weight in the process.
“When I meet with clients I can totally relate to their struggles,” she tells COLlive.com. “I have been there. I know exactly what they are going through. That really helps me to understand their needs, and help them on their journey as well,” she says.
While many of her clients come to Krinsky for weight loss, some come to her looking to have more energy, others to gain a healthy weight. Each plan is customized for the individual client’s needs and goals.
Programs typically run once a week for 8 weeks, with Rivkah meeting with each client and providing motivation, tips, recipes, guidance, and nutritional facts.
“My goal for every client is that they should have a balance of healthy diet and exercise, in a doable and joyful way, so that when they leave here they feel like they can do this for life,” she says. “I encourage people not to take on too much at once, everything is accomplished in steps,” she says.
“This is not a diet,” she explains. “This is a modified lifestyle. The most important thing to know is that flexibility is important – a healthy balanced lifestyle is not about extreme changes, which can sometimes be too difficult to maintain. It’s about joyful living with a balance of 80 percent wholesome, healthy habits and 20 percent things that you love and enjoy.”
Krinsky also stresses that children should be part of a healthy lifestyle, which teaches them good habits for life.

She has recently launched her new website, revivewithrivkah.com, with information about her program, link to subscribe to her newsletter, and her contact information, and includes a collection of her recipes, indexed by type and occasion, which she is famous for.
Her “healthy swaps” posted on her Instagram account include healthy versions of favorite snacks and treats, such as cookies and cakes. She also encourages smoothies as a way to incorporate fruits and vegetables in anyone’s diet.
“It is so easy and convenient to put all your day’s fruits and greens in one shake and drink it in the morning. You know you’re covered for the day. The kids love them as well,” she says.
Krinsky works with both women and men, in person and anywhere in the world via FaceTime. She still travels to perform, but now her “mind, body, soul” events center around the message from her journey and mindful living, at times incorporating song as well.
Plans are in the works for group health coaching sessions, if enough people show an interest, she says.
“I particularly love working with teenagers, because it’s the best time to change your habits and create healthy ones instead. I love seeing a young girl feel confident and great about herself. I also love working with new moms, who can achieve new energy and empower themselves to be their best selves for their families,” she says.
Krinsky says her goal is to make each individual feel good “inside and out.”
“It’s so meaningful to me when my client is empowered to change their life, and they look and feel amazing. This has a ripple effect on her husband, her children, on the whole family. This empowers me too and keeps me going – I feel like I am making a difference in people’s lives.”
